Held annually in May, this event is a favorite amongst members of the museum & museum guests!  There are lovely table settings, floral arrangements, a variety of small bites and desserts, and of course beautiful hats.  The annual hat contest brings a little competition and a whole lot of creativity to the museum grounds every year! 

One of the benefits of becoming a member of The May Museum is the Annual Oyster Roast of course!  A yearly membership is your ticket in where it is all you can eat oysters, sides, and beverages!  This is a yearly event that is catered and is set on the museum grounds.  It brings socializing with friends, meeting new ones, laughter, and obviously lots of great food!  Membership forms and information can be accessed by clicking the membership information page.    

 Step into an old-fashioned holiday tradition filled with music, laughter, and warm spiced cider. A wassail is a cheerful winter gathering where the community comes together to toast good health, enjoy live entertainment, and share in the spirit of the season. Expect delicious small bites and desserts, good company, and the comforting aroma of hot mulled cider (the classic “wassail bowl”) welcoming you in from the cold.  This event is open to the public and a great way to meet new friends and see old ones too!

  The BBQ was cooked by Gorham's on the Museum grounds.  There was live music, food, beverages, and fun enjoyed by all.  Events like these are open to the public.  Admission is free.  Food and beverages are for purchase. Come out to the next one and hang out with us! We hope to have another one soon!

During the summer months, come join us for Music in the Park.  There is live music, vendors, food trucks, beverages, and friends.  This event is always a favorite for Farmville and surrounding communities alike.  It is held on the Museum grounds and  is always a wonderful time for everyone.
